The unintended expatriate blogger behind Willow Sonic Slope

Hello, I'm Noah
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Madison, United States.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Relocating to United States wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were tough—new systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, moments of doubt, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Yet, over time routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began to create something that felt steady.
Why I Built Willow Sonic Slope
Much of the online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a frank, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap with practical advice drawn from real-life in United States.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical, real-world experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in United States continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting our discoveries.
If you have questions about family life in Madison or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Noah
